With idle time on his hands, he decided to come out for a look, only to be met with an old acquaintance.

"Not interested!" Mu Qiancheng replied coldly on behalf of Jiang Xue. The last thing he expected was that Jiang Xue’s favored courtyard belonged to Nangong Chen. Had he known, he wouldn’t have bothered negotiating with the gatekeeper to discuss with the homeowner.

"Mr. Mu, I don’t recall asking you?" Nangong Chen gave Mu Qiancheng a casual glance before looking at Jiang Xue and saying, "Miss Jiang, please come in!"

Jiang Xue looked at Mu Qiancheng, then at the courtyard in front of her, and hesitated. She really admired the scenery in this garden, and if it belonged to someone else, she might even muster the courage to plead for entry.

But now, knowing its owner is Nangong Chen—a man she always deemed dangerous and possibly privy to her secrets—she instinctively wanted no involvement with him.
