Chapter 100 The Warrior's Defeat
Chapter 100 The Warrior's Defeat
Chapter 100 The Warrior's Defeat
【warn!warn! 】
[Batman #52, your danger level has been increased.]
You have been promoted from no level to F level.
The silver-white lettering of the Alfred Protocol lingered on Chen Tao's retina, and the intense, piercing pain that had swept through his brain vanished, replaced by a sense of clarity.
"That's impossible."
Bain was somewhat numb.
He had lost count of how many times he had uttered that word, perhaps dozens, perhaps hundreds.
But do you know what's different from before?
He has run out of cards to play.
They've run out of tricks.
He said, "No matter what, you couldn't possibly emerge unscathed from a nuclear explosion at such close range."
Frustration.
A profound sense of defeat washed over Bane. He stared at the dragon that had finally appeared before him.
Everything about Batman's appearance was different from what he had seen before, but there was one thing that never changed.
eye.
Those indifferent eyes, eyes that looked down from above.
Those contemptuous eyes, that deeply hidden smile, forever mocked his powerless struggle.
He said, "I clearly calculated that even a nanoscale body would..."
"They'll be seriously injured too, right?"
Chen Tao answered him. His voice, after transforming into a dinosaur, became even deeper and more deafening: "Actually, I'm very curious about something."
"Look at what's on you, Bane. Amber gold, Titan venom, the green of all things, the black of decay."
"You borrowed my power."
Bane immediately realized without being told, "Venom?"
But he immediately continued:
"But even so, it shouldn't be that bad..."
"Super-sized Venom," Chen Tao said. "I captured your henchman, nicknamed 'Zombie,' remember?"
"So what? You're just..."
"I controlled him with the Mad Hatter's chip and provided him with state-of-the-art laboratories and equipment. Drugs made in such places are far superior in both purity and mildness compared to those made in small workshops."
Bain was speechless for a moment.
He had originally thought the other person would say something like, "My willpower is stronger," "I overcame Venom," or "Venom made me stronger," which might make him feel better.
Venom is indeed affected by its purity. While high-purity venom will greatly test the user's physical strength, it will undoubtedly bring greater power.
"With just these..."
"And amber gold."
Chen Tao listed them off as if they were his own treasures: "And the water of the Lhasa Road Pool."
"There are also protective suits prepared in advance," Chen Tao explained. "They're more like protective armor than protective clothing. They cost at least $20 billion, roughly equivalent to the most expensive fighter jet."
Chen Tao added in his mind:
And there's the undead, clawed bat-like zombie body...
"And Dr. Phosphorus."
Bain turned his head and saw that Dr. Phosphorus was indeed missing from the Arkham people.
Chen Tao explained:
"Like Atomic Skull, Dr. Phosphorus is also a superhuman capable of absorbing the energy of a nuclear explosion. His power also comes from nuclear energy. Although he himself is not very strong in combat, he is like a giant rechargeable battery."
Bain realized he had underestimated the other party.
"But I clearly defeated him on the way here, just like many other Arkhams..."
"Mr. Skeleton is just a tool. All we need is for him to absorb energy. It doesn't matter how badly he's beaten. He's just one of many tools."
"Do I need to tell you in detail how much preparation I did for this?"
Bane remained silent because he didn't need to know how Batman escaped, as it was all already happened and wouldn't help the current situation in the slightest.
But he couldn't help asking the question, knowing full well that it was a feeling of frustration and disappointment.
He had an incredibly clear understanding of his own mind, yet he was powerless to control it.
He knew he could no longer let these emotions control him.
"So, is this the last time?"
He asked, "Is this the final battle?"
"Without a doubt," Chen Tao replied. "Do you have any other trump cards up your sleeve?"
Bain remained silent.
of course not.
It failed.
Backed to the edge by Batman, all his plans came to naught, and he was surrounded by Batman's men, who had become even stronger.
The chances of winning are slim.
Bain closed his eyes, then opened them.
But... I'm still here.
His eyes held the surging power of a tsunami.
Bain is still around!
"You think you've got this in the bag?"
Bain's eyes shone like stars in the dark night.
Those failures did not defeat him.
I know who I am.
"You think I'm bound to lose?"
I am Bane, I am the righteous warrior, and I will defeat the evil dragon.
I know that the only person in this world who can break me is him.
"ah--"
But you raised your fist and prepared for a fierce battle.
You roar, and the pent-up anger is successfully unleashed under the control of your calm mind.
The deep, dark green color gives half of your body a lush, verdant hue.
More green leaves grow from the lignified muscles, spreading all the way to the top of your head.
You yelled.
Under the bright moonlight, the warrior charged alone towards the evil dragon.
But—it was all in vain.
You cannot defeat him.
Once again, you have reviewed all the possible paths, and all of them lead to the same end: your own demise.
Menacing.
You throw a punch at the face of the giant dinosaur.
But before the fist even touched the skin, the enormous dragon face disintegrated into black mist that surged around the fist.
Then, in the next second, your chest is gently touched by a sharp blade.
Crunch, crunch, crunch—
It was like a saw violently sawing through a piece of iron, a sound that made your teeth ache.
"It's no use!" you roared. "You can't do anything to me—"
Before you could finish speaking, your entire body was enveloped in countless black sands.
Then you see countless car parts mixed with the green muscle tissue of dinosaurs and a bunch of random venom injection tubes, all coalescing into a terrifying fist in front of you.
Then the next moment.
The world was shaken, and blood filled your lips and nostrils.
One of your ribs is bent back into your lungs, and you try to breathe deeply, but to no avail.
The edges of your vision begin to distort, then blur and dim.
You fight back, you always fight back.
But everything ends the same way: darkness comes rushing towards you, your breath stops, and the world turns dark.
You fell to the ground.
You see the black giant blade slide across your chest again, making a teeth-grinding sound, like cutting through steel and gnawing at wood.
The aftershocks spilled onto the adjacent Arkham Asylum wards, splitting the massive building in two before collapsing with a deafening roar, sending clouds of dust billowing into the air.
Your consciousness is blurred.
You hear that illusory singing:
"Through me, you will enter the city of weeping...through me, you will enter endless suffering..."
"...Before me, all things were unformed..."
"...O one who comes, quickly abandon all hope!"
So you fell to the ground, scattering your body in the darkness of the wilderness.
You feel a sense of warmth and relief.
(Note: The poem that Bain heard was from Dante's Divine Comedy.)
Yay, I'm finally done writing.
