Chapter 111: Last enemy

Under the hot water, Ray let his body relax. Some fatigue still remained in his body; however, until the next round started, he would return to his prime.

His mind empty of any thought, he enjoyed his small moment; the whole building smelled like red soil, and with its design being mostly like a spaceship inside, Ray didn’t feel like it was a house or base inside of it.

"A group of people has entered the maze..."

"What?" The familiar voice in his head usually didn’t talk to him, and what was even the maze?

Sensing that something is going to happen, Ray came out of the shower, wearing his robe; he wanted to tell the two immortals that a new event was on the way.

"Sorry Ray, I wanted to play fair and square untill the end, but life is not fair..."

Before he could react, a blast of pure magic came out of his body, turning the building into dust on its path. Ray wanted to finish himself before the parasite could reach his goal, but ropes of magic came into being; one by one, they tied his hands and legs, with some of them lurking into his body, blocking any magic that he could do.

"Kill me as fast as possible..."

The message was straight sent to Scarlet’s mind; after a second, her blade came for him, yet a barrier around his body stopped it. Her figure changed her attack to with her magic, and no effect once more.

"What the fuck happened?"

With his whole body being covered in white ropes, Ray still could talk, "The parasite wants to finish this faster; his plan is probably to get the rewards and then kill me..."

"..." She couldn’t talk as a message announced something in their systems:

The surge of power in Scarlet’s veins shook her; one by one, the levels that were locked started to open once more in her disposal.

The aura on the other side showed that Aria had gained her full power too, "Fuck..."

Her level gap with the other immortal was 9 levels, with her being level 13 and the other one being level 22. More than whatever the enemy was her fear resided in Aria.

"The barrier is a free-form magic; it changes its form to counter the type of attack on it. I will work on a way to break it." Despite his situation, Ray stayed calm; the least he could do to hurt the parasite was to stop it from getting the one million magic crystals.

With pink lights, Aria teleported next to Scarlet. "New orders: Fereya will be in here in 10 minutes." She will pull you out from here."

Scarlet wanted to snap back, but seeing the stress on her face made her stop for a second. "What about you?"

"I have to keep the enemy occupied until she arrives." Her discomfort with the order she had received was visible on her face.

"I will help you."

Aria sighed, pressing a button on the cross hidden in her hand. "You will be in the way."

A bones penetrated out of Scarlet’s shoulder, growing to lock her body, before Scarlet could fight back, her figure disappeared into thin air.

Ray had heard rumors about the infamous magic of the leader of the goddess squad, Bone magic. He always wondered how such a weak magic could be the leader of the strongest squad on earth.

"Find a way to break the barrier from the inside." Aria turned around; the enemy seemed to be entering the arena.

Across the lands of the festival, a golden portal opened. A figure walked out of it; with his height and wide shoulders, he could be compared to a giant. His whole body was covered by a golden armor; blonde hair came out of his helmet; they were long enough that they reached his waist, and the only thing visible was his eyes, a pair of golden eyes.

The aura and the presence were too familier for Ray, the level of the new enemy was around 15 yet Aria’s bones were shaking from fear.

"We finally met Blood Angel." In a blink of an eye, the man in shining armor stood in front of them; his voice didn’t belong to such an era, an ancient voice that hearing it alone could drive someone to madness.

"Others have located your planet?" Ray asked with a grin on his face; the only reasonable explanation for his sudden change of plan could be that the place he was going to reincarnate was in danger. "Who are you?"

"My name has not reached your times, unfortunately." His armor shined with golden lights. "You showed me great things, Blood Angel. Right now, across the universe, angels, devils, and many more have their eyes on this small planet. As a form of gratitude, let me show the greatest show in the universe!"

Ray laughed at the crazy words; his words broke the concentration of the immortal; her magic was making stars across the arena. "Use your domain or you will die in the first minute."

Their stares locked on each other, "He’s way inferior to me!" Rage took over his emotions. "I will show everyone why I’m the strongest."

Thousands of pink stars exploded at the same time, their sizes were ten times larger than the ones that Ray had faced, the whole world turned pink, the barrier deflected everything and Ray didn’t even sense the heat.

As the dust and smoke faded away, the parasite still stood there, without any scratches on his armor.

With each word his sound became deeper, "That was all?"

Like a frozen statue, Aria just stared at her opponent; her eyes couldn’t believe the sight in front of her. Half of the earth could be destroyed by such an attack, yet he was standing there, mocking her.

At once the fight turned from a fight for crystals into a fight over her survival.

Her eyes turned purple as she used her strongest weapon.

"Dead star’s door."
