Chapter 432 I'm Saint
Chapter 432 I'm Saint
Rays of sunlight pierced through the windows, ushering warmth into the room. Lucy's eyes adjusted to the brightness as she leaned on the wall in the corner where she sat.
The light couldn't reach her, but it illuminated the room.
'What's this…'
Lucy slowly rose to her feet. She looked at the words carved into the floor and went to where they began. There was a stone left there.
When Lucy got there, she squinted.
"There was once a ten-year-old boy. His friends were revealing their summons, and so did he. Excited and hoping they would be in awe, he disregarded his parents' warning and revealed his other summon, a humanoid summon…"
"Their reaction wasn't what he wanted. It wasn't what he expected, but it was the reality. I remember, clear as day. When I crouched in an almost abandoned part of the school, crying, even my teacher, when she found me, stared at me with obvious disgust."
"Not everyone who finds us at our lowest point loves us. I've had to live most of my life hidden, afraid that one little mistake would turn my world upside down. It did, and it wasn't a mistake. The world sniffed me out like a hunter's dog after prey."
"We all have our tough times. Mine might be nothing compared to yours, but you can be strong. I believe you can."
At the end of it, there was an arrow.
Lucy turned in the direction the arrow pointed and saw the silhouette of a young man on the rooftop of the building right next to her, tossing stones to the ground.
The sun was shining directly on him, making it hard to see his face.
He said nothing. He didn't even look in her direction, but somehow his unsaid words echoed in her head.
'I've found you in your lowest time. And you will find no disgust in these eyes.'
She exhaled heavily. For a split moment, her mind cleared. Then a sudden pain struck her stomach, forcing her to her knees.
This was an unexplainable pain, like something was trying to claw its way out. She rolled on the ground, holding out against the pain of starvation.
'It's been days now. If you don't find me a proper meal, the result will be a massacre. Do you know what happens to a man who hasn't eaten for days? He snaps and eats anything, anything edible. Sometimes they don't even have to be edible. Once you snap, we will wipe out this entire town.'
'I don't mind if their beasts taste good at this point.'
Hera's voice wounded Lucy's ears.
'What are you waiting for?! Let me eat! You're finally a summoner of a demigod! You're amongst the elite of this world and many other worlds! You don't have to be in the shadow of another!'
Hera lashed out. She couldn't understand how this weak girl was still holding out. She had cried until her tears dried out, had screamed until her voice cracked and vanished.
Yet… she still remained broken. What… What exactly made her mind so strong?
While Hera pondered with a ferocious expression unfit for an elegant elven beauty, Lucy appeared in the soul space.
Both of them floated in what looked like space.
"I'd rather we die together. If that's one substantial thing I have achieved, then so be it. At least, a normal human being… killed a demigod."
Hera went mad when Lucy said that. She lunged at her, swinging her one-edged sword in a downward crescent wave.
Lucy's eyes widened. But Hera vanished in the next moment, and the attack phased through her.
The wall of the building shattered as Hera shot through it, heading straight for Percival.
Her elven part had a special ability. It was a High Elf with an ability called Wolf Heart.
There was a wolf in elven lore called the Fangs of Death. It was rumoured to be the spirit that brings death. The High Elf Cain copied had the ability to transform into that wolf, and his creation also had that same ability.
Mid-air, Hera transformed into a huge wolf made of black fur and mist.
Two moon-like white eyes locked on Percival.
The wolf was easily bigger than the buildings in this town.
It held the curved sword with its fangs. Hera crashed into the building Percival sat on, crushing it. Her eyes followed Percival, who was mid-air, and she swung the sword in her maw.
There was a sudden pause and then buildings were swept off their foundations, blown away by the speed of that slash.
A row of houses, gone in one move.
It was obvious this town wouldn't last a couple of blows and would be wiped off the map.
Percival, who had scattered into water, gathered back together.
He stood in the ruins of where those buildings once stood.
There were lots of people who were blown away by the force. Most of them were badly wounded. Freelancing hunters that survived unleashed their summons.
At the sight of beast summons, the huge wolf growled.
"Any who faces me are in a battle with death."
The hunters looked at themselves.
There was an explosion, and Hera was already before a hunter's summon, maw wide open and about to consume this small beast.
'Stop.'
Lucy's command forced Hera to stop at the last moment.
Hera's eyes went to her summoner, and she found Percival beside her.
That blue-haired man irritated her to no end. She wanted nothing more than to rip him apart.
'Come back here, Hera.'
Though struggling to resist, Hera was compelled to return and crouch before her summoner.
Her growls spread throughout the town, rage forcing the earth itself to rumble.
Raw, unbridled hate directed straight at Percival.
"You stand beside him? The same kind that makes me hunt you? Do you think I would be able to do anything to you if you weren't jealous? I only amplify what's there!!" Hera roared.
"You just can't help yourself. Let's take his face… I can give you the power to take the face of anyone you desire. Selyne, Godfrey, Isaac. All their faces, all their summons can be ours."
Lucy shut her eyes and forcefully retrieved her, even when she knew Hera could force her way out at any moment.
"This… is new."
A soft, aged voice rang out, forcing both Lucy and Percival to look at a man whose very presence made the crowd make way.
His head had gone bald, but his beard had grown to his stomach. He bent, holding a stick, his clothes looked almost like rags.
This man didn't even look like one who belonged to this age, but the aura that radiated off him told Percival something he never expected.
He was before the presence of one of the strongest Titled God summoners on Earth. A hidden demigod who might be from the Age of Kings.
"I've never seen something out of the box with my own two eyes ever since that monkey man left."
The old man slowly opened his eyes, and a sharp golden light flashed like sword beams.
"Call me Saint…"
His eyes went to where Hera once stood.
"I kill Obsidians."
